Maleficent Look! - The Dark Side of Beauty October Challenge Entry

Hello everyone! Today, after a period of not blogging yet again, I bring you this Maleficent-inspired look. This my submission for The Dark Side of Beauty's October Challenge: Week 1 - Maleficent!

This is the only time I'll say it- my eyes look too big for my face!
It is the silliest thing- I was visiting a Walgreen's today, and I saw these beauties just sitting up on a Disney Villains display, where a ton of different companies had created or released collections inspired by the Devious Disney Dames!

How malevolently magnificent are these Maleficent lashes? I love Ardell lashes, as they are truly the only brand of American lashes that I'll wear. This was $6.99, and it came with glue and a cute package, so it was worth it for me!

Too fierce, mami~
There were also ones for the Evil Queen (Snow White), Cruella DeVille (101 Dalmatians), and of course Ursula (The Little Mermaid). I honestly wanted to buy all of them, but I had to resist. Cruella and the Evil Queen's lash packs included a set with glitter on them! Silver for Cruella and gold for the Evil Queen. If you are a lash addict and like Disney villain themed things, head to Walgreen's! They have a huge selection of the Disney Villains collaboration products.

For this look, I used #114 to achieve that wicked villainess flair~

Here is my inspiration/reference picture:

Maleficent is a spiteful, but extremely powerful fairy in the tale of Sleeping Beauty. She was angry she had not been invited to the party which celebrated the birth of Aurora, the princess of a king and queen. She casts an evil curse upon the baby girl, and is the story's main antagonist. At the end of the film, she turns into a large, destructive dragon that tries to prevent a prince from rescuing Aurora and her entire kingdom from a spell of eternal sleep (a counter-spell from a kind fairy). My inspiration draws from the sharpness of her hate, and the colors of her as a dragon!

Here are some terribly blurry close-ups of the eye! I put green in my waterline, represnting the crazy green flames Maleficent spouted when she was a dragon, and also included purple because, let's face it, it just isn't a Maleficent look without some purple.

Here is one last photo! I tried to look like I was angry because I wasn't invited to a hoppin' birthday party.

What did you guys think of this look? Who is your favourite Disney villain- or hero? Or, character?

I'll see you guys soon! I have much to blog about before I fly off to Japan in a week and a half's time~

Ciao bellas~

Style It! - Turquoise Ruffle Dress

Hello and welcome to a new series here on めっちゃめっちゃ可愛い!

I must first say that this series is entirely inspired by (and sort of dedicated) to Sara Mari of Moments like Diamonds. She's been one of my favourite bloggers for about 3 years now (when I first started seriously blogging), and is also a big inspiration in terms of style and also weight loss. I'm sure you all have heard of her, and if not, you should check out her blog! She hasn't update for a while, but there's always a chance she might sometime again (which I'm really hoping she does).

So what is this series? Well, it was inspired by Sara Mari's "One 7 Ways" series that she did for a while.

She set out to style one item seven different ways. I've chosen to do basically the same thing, except I don't have a set number of ways to style it. I'm going to try and at least do 3 styles with each piece, but you may get up to 7 styles if I'm creative enough hahaha! My closet isn't as extensive as Sara Mari's for the time being, but this is a chance for me to show you all my style, and for me to learn how to coordinate pieces better! The first few posts may be shaky, so please bear with me alright?

So onto the piece I'm styling today!

Remember this dress? I bought it at Papaya for only $14.50! What a steal!

So I'm going to style it several ways for you today :D

I figured this dress would be fun to wear on a date!

This dress is such a fun color already, I decided to tone it down with the neutral color of different shades of brown!

So, I styled it with a brown clutch (Free from a Nordstrom event), a skinny brown belt (Forever 21), bow-front brown high heels (Target), some gold bangles (H&M), a blue bracelet, and a brown and gold necklace (Forever 21).

Now, if it's a little chilly where you live, you can style it like this:

SECOND STYLE: Warm Cute Date!

Same concept, using different shades of brown! I used a faux leather jacket (H&M), and added brown low-heeled studded boots ( This date look is warm and cute, but now has a rocker edge thrown in!

I turned this dress into a top with the help of a high-waisted brown skirt from Forever 21, beaded sandals (Steve Madden), the same bangles and necklace as the first two styles as well to make it seem as "boho" and minimal as possible. This would be nice for cooler summer days, spring days, or warmer autumn days!

I was going for a Shibuhara style, but there aren't nearly enough accessories for that! I should have added a few pins, but alas, I did not. Consider this outfit a nearly blank canvas! Hahaha~

I was going for a sweet look, and it had pops of colors too! I added a heart cardigan (Love Culture), a hot pink cross necklace (Forever 21), a  plastic beaded necklace with flowers painted on it (thrifted), see-through polka-dot socks (Forever 21), and my fave water-color wedges (urban outfitters).

But maybe sweet isn't your style?......

You can tell I liked this look- 2 photos! Hahaha ☆
Keep up that girly style, but make it tough and graphic! I added black socks (Forever 21), a nail ring (claire's), a bow ring (H&M), a "YES" snapback and "FLY" earrings (both from Love Culture), a "FAKE" necklace (Hot Topic), and platform sneakers (urban outfitters). I think this is something you'd see in the Shibuhara style as well ♥ Though, there isn't nearly enough accessories still! Gahhhh~

Show off a little leg while looking professional at an air-conditioned office! To make this look a little more formal, but still fun, I added a white button-up (H&M), a skinny black belt with gold links (Forever 21), chunky heels (urban outfitters), and a nice gold necklace with a blue stone for accent and contrast (claire's).

I can easily see many women I know who works in offices wearing this. It still complies with most work-place dress codes, and is cute, yet still very trendy!

I think wearing dresses during winter is amazing! Worried about staying warm? It's okay when you add a thick silver threaded cardigan (Forever 21), silver tights (TopShop), and cool heeled leather boots (Michael Kors). For jewelry, I kept it in the silver family with a nice heart necklace (Japan), and silver bow earrings with an ear cuff on one of them (Hot Topic).

So I gave you 7 different ways on how to style this dress! I think that's appropriate since this series was inspired from One 7 Ways hahaha! I can't promise it'll be seven each time, but hopefully it'll be a good amount each time!

Thank you all for reading~ If you enjoyed it, let me know in the comments so I can continue this sort of thing for you~

Maybelline SuperStay 10 Hour Stain Gloss Review

Yaho~ I'm here with a review for you guys!

Today I'll be reviewing....

"Lasting color. Vibrant sheen. Meet the first-ever 10HR stain gloss. Shine enhancing formula glides on lightweight color that won't dry out." via

This product claims: (via

• Vibrant and shiny wear; never flat
• Feels fresh all day, never dry.
• Glides on wet and smooth, never drags
• Shine enhancing formula provides a lightweight layer of lasting color
• 10 long-lasting shades

Maybelline's instructions for best application and results: Using the wand, apply your lipcolor by starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

Ingredients: None listed on packing, or on website.

Price: varies from $5-$8 (I bought mine on sale w/ a coupon so it was only $3)

Alright, so now that we've got all the info down, let's move onto the actual review!

I like this applicator because it's slightly bent, but also has a small hole through the middle of the brush so the flat surface isn't always picking up too much product for you to handle!

So the #1 is one coat of the gloss, and then #2 is two coats of the gloss. As you can see, it is rather easy to build up color intensity.

Now for the product on my actual lips!

Here are my bare lips for comparison.

One coat. Sorry for it being out of focus! But you get the idea~

And two coats! This is my preferred color intensity of this, as it is the most intense it can go. Anymore layers, and the product becomes too messy to handle on the lips and can spread everywhere.

Formula: ★★★★☆ - Has a nice smell and leaves the lips quite hydrated, but sometimes smells too strong.
Shine:  ★★★★☆ - Does dry a little matte instead of staying super shiny when first applied.
Pigmentation: ★★★★★ - 5 stars! I really enjoy the color payoff from this gloss, especially the fact that it is indeed a gloss. It also has great versatility.
Length of wear: ★★★☆☆ - Like most other people who have worn this, I do notice it wears off the corners of the mouth easily, and also comes off when eating or drinking. The stain lasts, but not as shiny nor as pigmented as when first applied. It definitely does not last 10 hours like it claims, but I wasn't expecting that.

OVERALL: ★★★★☆

All in all, for the price I bought this stain gloss at, it is a product I would consider buying again, but in different colors. I hope more colors are released soon though. 10 shades is nice, but maybe something even deeper in a more purple shade could be released!

Have you tried this product?

Weekend Haul

This past weekend, I went to Reida's house, which is nearby a huuuuuuuge mall and there are always super great sales!

The day before I went, I stopped by the 3-story Forever 21 that's located in Downtown Seattle, as they were having an additional 30% off of sale items! I bought 4 new items~

I bought this because of Mitsu's post about some trends in onee gyaru fashions~ Black & white and houndstooth are in for A/W this year, so finding this piece was nice cause I can layer it!

I also found these nice shorts! I just needed something a little bit longer so I can wear leggings with this during the school year for a more casual style.

I love love love love this shirt! Unfortunately, the girl who was bagging my items had something on her hands because there's suddenly a stain on the shirt (not visible in the picture). So I'll have to wash it out. But this is really nice because you can layer it or just wear it with shorts and a tank-top or a nice dress underneath it with tights!

I'm always into the marine style, so a light turtle-neck with blue and white border print is a plus for me! It may not be super on trend, but I like it and it was $3.50 on sale so I'm not complaining!

So the next day, I went to the mall and met up with Reida. She was looking for some new clothes for school, and me, well, I just like clothing and shopping so here are my gets!

I've never been to this store before, but I saw some trending items in the sale section (which is the section I always go to first since there will be on-trend items for great prices).

Let me say that I absolutely love these leggings to death. They were only $7!!! These kinds of leggings can get quite expensive, so I'm glad I found a cheaper alternative.

You can't really see in these photos, but the right thigh has a mesh-star insert, and the left calf has one as well. These were also $7.

This dress was only $14.50 on sale instead of being originally $30-something. It fits very nicely and is a lovely turquoise color! I even like the snake-skin belt it came with. I tend to not really like the waist belts that come with clothes, but this one is quite nice.

And one of my favourite purchases was this army green, super thin, rib-cage cut shirt for only $7! It's very thin, but I just love this thing so much. I can't wait to wear it more!

We finally have a TopShop in my area.... But luck would have it that it's a tiny one inside of Nordstrom, which means they don't have many items nor do they do the 10% student discount that a stand-alone TopShop offers. Very, very disappointing. The TopMan section was 5x bigger while the girl section was only a fraction. I wish we had just a stand-alone one... But oh well.

TopShop has become my favourite place to purchase tights from, so with the express interest of those, Reida and I went hunting!

TopShop is generally expensive, but sometimes they have the best sales! These tights were originally $17, and I bought each for only $4! Both of these fade to black, and I think the effect is so lovely.

I was also in need of those frilled ankle socks- yes, I didn't own any before! Heresy! But yes, I also bought these. Out of my clothing haul for the weekend, these were the only full-priced items, so not bad huh?

Wondering how much I spent? Well... On clothing, I calculated that I spent....

*drum roll*

Insanity! I got a dress, 4 tops, 2 tights, 2 socks, and 2 leggings for only $94! And there are so many different outfits I can make from these.

I now proclaim myself the bargain queen!

But wait, there's more!

I also bought some pretty face masks from Uwajimaya~

I got 7 different kinds for only $10, so not bad! I've use one of them, and it worked very nicely. I can't wait to use more! I may buy some of these for a giveaway!

Also, an awesome package came in the mail!

I ordered these two boots from and I'll review them soon!

Overall, I think this last weekend was a good weekend for clothes shopping! Now, I won't buy anything till a week before school starts (because then my dad will help me pay hahaha yay!)

Right now, I'm trying to transition from my current job to a different due to the need for me to work closer to home, but I have a few days off for now, so I'll try and blog more!

Kose Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil Tutorial

Today, I am re-doing one of my most liked posts back on my previous blog....

The Kose Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil Tutorial~!

I really enjoy this oil, and it's pretty much the king of all cleansing oils that I've tried.

Oil on skin? That doesn't sound healthy! But it is because you are using good oils to clean and moisturizer your skin!

It's ideal for all skin types and has a nice orangy and rosey scent to it. I really enjoy the subtle smell, and it's so nice, it shouldn't affect your skin negatively! However, there are mineral oils in this, so if your skin can't handle that, beware okay?

I know a lot of people use the DHC oil, but I personally never liked it, and it's just too expensive for me. I like the Kose version because it also has refills! I think that's so nice cause then you don't have to keep buying new bottles and its a bit cheaper but you still get the product. (Ps, Please be careful and discerning when you buy foreign beauty products online!)

I've been using this oil for a few years, and it really lasts a long time!

Now, it can be used daily to remove makeup and such, but I really only use it for deep cleansing- as the name implies, but it does a really great job at removing waterproof mascara!

Let's get started!

1. A clean towel. A cute color is optional ♥
2. The star of the show! Kose Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil
3. Your favourite moisturizer
4. Items to tie your hair back

Go ahead and tie your hair up and take out your contacts! Do not wear your contacts, since the oil will mess them up. I did cleanse my face with this oil one time and my contacts were ruined since some got into my eyes.

I want to add that getting anything in your eyes isn't ideal, but this oil does not hurt, however, NO CONTACTS!

Wash your hands and add 1 to 2 pumps of the oil onto your hand, and rub your hands together to warm it up.

Massage the oil into your skin with your fingertips very gently for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

This is what the oil looks like when water is added! So make sure your hands and face are dry!

Let rest for up to 3 minutes, then wash with lukewarm water. Make sure it's lukewarm!

Pat dry with your clean towel! And apply a good amount of your favourite moisturizer.

Congratulations! You now have cleaner, softer, and brighter looking skin- all because you decided to go ahead and spend a little time deep cleansing with some oil!

If you try this product, please let me know~!

Have you used different cleansing oils? How do they work for you? Do you have any local cleansing oil brands you can recommend to others?
