"If you asked me for my New Year Resolution, it would be to find out who I am."
- Cyril Cusack

Let's start off with saying 2016 was a really rough year. It was so hard.

I would like to forget it, but there's no way I can. So, as we all must, I'm choosing to move on.

Many exciting changes are coming my way- I know it. Many struggles will attach themselves to everything exciting, new, wonderful, and happy. This is the way of life. As someone who is becoming more and more adept at learning to let things go (thank you, Elsa), I'm trying to learn more about myself, moving on, and balancing life.

So that's why my theme for 2017 will be balance.

I watched a video (or two, or eight, actually) on how to succeed in 2017- how to set goals and reach them. Shannon mentioned having a word that will overall set the theme for the year. After thinking about it for a bit, I figured that my theme should be balance.
bal·ance

ˈbaləns/
noun
1 an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady.
2 a condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions.

How will I achieve balance? For this, I'm not entirely sure. For years, it seems the idea I have for my new year's theme are always about renewal. Well, I'm not looking to renew much this year. I'm more looking for stability, structure, balance.

I have a list of goals- I always do. As 2017 progresses, I may share more of them, but now I have a select few I wish to publish here, as a promise to myself and to all of you.

- Blog more
- Take care of my physical health
- Inhale the future, exhale the past
- Love myself and show my relationships the love they deserve
- Be a person my mom would be proud of

And with that, I shall see you all soon. In my next post, I have a review as well as what to expect on the blog for 2017.
